Making a Difference Through Compassionate Care

At Paramita Suva Arana, our work began with a simple but important response to a difficult situation: helping Buddhist monks and nuns access essential healthcare when medical services and basic supplies were difficult to obtain.

Since then, that initial effort has grown into an ongoing programme of medical clinics and a long-term project to establish a dedicated place for the care and well being of the Maha Sangha.

Our impact is not only measured in numbers. It is reflected in every monk and nun who receives medical attention, every healthcare professional who gives their time, every volunteer who serves, and every step taken towards creating a permanent facility for compassionate care.

Our Next Chapter

Our journey has grown significantly since the first medical clinics began.

Today, an increasing number of Buddhist monks and nuns are coming from different parts of Sri Lanka to access medical care and support through our programmes. As participation continues to grow, the facilities currently available to us are becoming increasingly limited.

We believe the growing needs of the Maha Sangha require a long term solution. For this reason, the Chairman of Paramita Suva Arana has generously contributed more than one acre of land towards the development of a dedicated Bhikkhu Clinic and Wellbeing Facility Centre.

This is the next major step in our journey.

Bhikkhu Clinic & Wellbeing Facility Centre

A Dedicated Place for Healthcare, Care and Wellbeing

The proposed facility is envisioned as a dedicated environment where Buddhist monks can receive appropriate healthcare, medical attention, residential support, and wellbeing services in a setting that respects their spiritual way of life.

Our architectural plans have been developed with the future needs of the Maha Sangha in mind.

The proposed centre will help us move beyond temporary clinic arrangements and towards a more permanent and sustainable model of care.

Why We Need This Facility

As the number of monks and nuns attending our clinics increases, the demand for suitable space, medical facilities, accommodation, and supporting services also increases.

The new facility will help us:

  • Expand our medical clinic capacity
  • Provide a more suitable environment for medical consultations
  • Support monks who require continued medical attention
  • Provide appropriate residential and wellbeing facilities
  • Better accommodate healthcare professionals and volunteers
  • Create a peaceful environment appropriate for the Maha Sangha
  • Strengthen our ability to serve forest dwelling and other monks who face difficulties accessing healthcare

Our Architectural Vision

We have developed architectural plans for the proposed Bhikkhu Clinic and Wellbeing Facility Centre as part of the long-term vision of Paramita Suva Arana.

The design is inspired by compassion, mindfulness, simplicity, and harmony with nature. The proposed buildings are carefully planned to work with the natural landscape, allowing trees, fresh air, natural light, and peaceful surroundings to remain an important part of the environment.

Our vision is to create more than a healthcare facility  a peaceful place for medical care, rest, wellbeing, and meditation for the Maha Sangha.

The development will include medical and consultation facilities, treatment areas, supporting healthcare services, accommodation, dining, and peaceful shared spaces.

Building in Harmony with Nature

Through the generous contribution of our Chairman, Paramita Suva Arana has been provided with a beautiful property of more than one acre of land for the development of the Bhikkhu Clinic and Wellbeing Facility Centre.

The land borders a natural forest, offering a peaceful setting with great potential for healthcare, rest, and meditation. As we begin preparing the site, we are carefully carrying out ground levelling and essential groundwork while giving due consideration to the surrounding trees and natural environment.

Our intention is not simply to construct buildings, but to create a peaceful sanctuary in harmony with nature. We hope to preserve as much of the existing greenery as possible and maintain a calm, natural atmosphere where Buddhist monks and nuns can receive medical care, rest, and spend time in meditation.

Preparing the Land for the Future

The current development work includes carefully preparing and levelling the land, while considering the protection of trees and the natural surroundings. We are also planning storage facilities to safely keep construction materials and support the organised development of the project.

Help Us Build This Centre

We are now working towards the construction of the Bhikkhu Clinic and Wellbeing Facility Centre. To make this vision a reality, we warmly welcome donations and support from Buddhist communities, devotees, and well-wishers in Sri Lanka and around the world.

Every contribution, whether large or small, will help us move closer to creating a dedicated place for the healthcare, wellbeing, and spiritual needs of the Maha Sangha.

Together, let us create a place where compassionate care and the peaceful beauty of nature support the wellbeing of the Sangha and contribute to the continuation of the Buddha Sasana.
