Serving the Maha Sangha with Compassion and Care

Paramitha Suva Arana is a charitable organisation established with deep respect and gratitude for the Maha Sangha. Our purpose is to support Buddhist monks and nuns who dedicate their lives to practising and preserving the precious Dhamma.

Monks and nuns may face difficulties caused by illness, limited access to medical care, transportation, and other essential needs. Through our work, we seek to reduce these difficulties and provide care and support with dignity and compassion.

Our vision now extends towards creating the Bhikkhu Clinic & Wellbeing Facility Centre in Naula. The proposed centre will provide a peaceful environment for healthcare, rest, wellbeing, and meditation, surrounded by the natural beauty of the area.

The land for this vision has been generously provided, and development has begun. We hope to create a place where healthcare and nature can exist together in harmony, while preserving the peaceful character of the land as much as possible.

Since our journey began, we have organised medical clinics and provided healthcare support for monks and nuns, including those living in forest monasteries and remote areas. These services have been made possible through the dedication of healthcare professionals, volunteers, and generous supporters.

From the Founder

The Blessed Buddha, through immeasurable sacrifice and countless lifetimes of cultivating the perfections, discovered and opened the path to Nibbana for all beings. That precious Dhamma has been preserved and carried forward through generations by the Maha Sangha those who dedicate their lives to practising the Dhamma and sharing its teachings with others. It is from deep respect and gratitude for the Maha Sangha that Paramitha Suva Arana was established. Our purpose is simple: to help reduce the difficulties that monks and nuns may face through illness, lack of medical care, transportation, and other essential needs, so that they can continue their spiritual journey with greater peace and dignity. Through our medical clinics, healthcare support, travel assistance, and our vision for a future Bhikkhu Clinic and Wellbeing Facility Centre, we hope to make a small but meaningful contribution to the wellbeing of the Maha Sangha. We believe that supporting those who preserve and practise the Dhamma is also a way of contributing to the continuation of the Buddha Sasana. I warmly invite everyone who shares this aspiration to join us in this journey of compassionate service. May our efforts become a wholesome contribution to the wellbeing of the Maha Sangha and the continuation of the precious Dhamma. With respect and gratitude,
Dr. D. M. S. Dissanayake
